IS VEGAN MAKING MY LIFE MORE POSITIVE?

Veganism has been a transformational journey for me. A journey about compassion and also a journey about pain. It still hurts me so deeply to see all of the sufferings in the world. At the same time, it warms my heart that people are becoming more open to this lifestyle and saving animals as a result. Besides this friction between pain and joy, they’ve been some other significant learnings since I became vegan almost three years ago. In this post, I’ll be sharing my honest experiences and lessons of what it’s like to be vegan. This is not a post about glorifying veganism. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.  I think many vegans are so focused on putting themselves in the best light in an attempt to inspire others to make the change. I get it. This Is Us' Chris Sullivan and Wife Rachel Welcome Baby No. 2

The This Is Us alum announced on social media that he and his wife, Rachel Sullivan, welcomed their second child together, a baby girl named Aoife Bea. "Please meet AOIFE BEA!" he captioned an Instagram video of the newborn meeting members of her new family Oct. 23. "She came 3 weeks early, fully grown, healthy and VERY strong. A super fast and smooth delivery (much to her mother's relief)." Chris—who also shares son Bear, 2, with Rachel—said the toddler is adjusting well to his role as an older sibling. "Brother Bear is enamored and overjoyed to welcome his sister home, telling everyone ‘baby coming!' the day she was born," the Agnes actor, 42, added. "She has immediately captured our hearts and doubled the love." Chris and his wife were showered with love from several cast members of This Is Us, including Mandy Moore who commented, "Can't wait to meet her!! Congrats sweet Sullivan fam!!!!" and Caitlin Thompson, who wrote, "So sweet! Can't wait to meet her!" In a May 5 Instagram video, Chris handed over a sonogram to Bear, who was wearing a shirt with the phrase "only child" crossed out above the words "big brother." The clip ended with the family revealing the sex of the baby with a text that read, "It's a... girl!" Chrissy Metz commented, "I can not wait to meet Ms. Aoife!" while Susan Kelechi Watson wrote, "My heart." The Sullivans first announced that they were expecting their second child back in May after Chris wrapped filming for the sixth and final season of the hit NBC drama.

The number of people cutting down on meat and dairy, or cutting these foods from their diets entirely, has been rising over the last decade. The number of vegans in the UK, for example, quadrupled between 2006 and 2018, according to research by The Vegan Society. One common motivation for shunning steak and stilton and going vegan is the promised health benefits.
